BIO

Juanice Williams, a native of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, is an Associate Instructor of Social Work at the University of Central Missouri. With a profound commitment to social welfare and education, Williams has dedicated her career to making a positive impact on the lives of individuals and communities.

Before joining academia, Williams served as a social worker for 13 years, contributing her expertise to various state and private agencies in Missouri. Her hands-on experience allowed her to directly address the needs of vulnerable populations, honing her understanding of the social challenges faced by many.

For the past two decades, Williams has called Lee's Summit home, residing with her family. Her connection to the community runs deep, having actively participated in various roles to support the local schools and families. Her advocacy for public education is evident not only in her professional endeavors but also in her personal life.

Williams holds a Bachelor of Social Work from Central Missouri State University, where she laid the foundation for her career in social work. She furthered her education with a Master of Social Work from the University of Kansas, solidifying her expertise and knowledge in the field.

As a member of the National Association of Social Workers and the School Social Workers Association of Missouri, Williams remains at the forefront of professional development. Her commitment to mental health advocacy is demonstrated through her role as a certified Mental Health First Aid trainer, emphasizing the importance of mental health awareness and support.

A proud proponent of public education, Williams's dedication extends beyond her professional life. All her children attended Lee's Summit schools, reflecting on her personal investment in the success of the local education system. One of her daughters has followed in her footsteps, becoming a teacher in the Lee's Summit school district.

Williams's community involvement showcases her unwavering commitment to making a difference. She served as the PTA President at Woodland Elementary, contributed as a member of the CSIP committee, volunteered as a room parent, and dedicated her time as a Girl Scout leader. Additionally, she actively participated in the Lee's Summit West Booster Club and served as a Booster Parent for Girls Cross Country.

As she steps into the candidacy for the Lee's Summit Board of Education, her wealth of experience and deep-rooted connections within the community positions her as a dedicated leader with a Family First perspective.
